Poured-in-Place

Poured-in-place surfacing has two major advantages:

  1. Installation is provided by the manufacturer and is included with the purchase
  2. Since it is not in a preformed shape, the product can be installed in irregular shaped sites. Although it is more costly, it is also possible to put in designs utilizing various colors with a poured-in-place job.

One of the companies we use for Poured in place surfacing is TotTurf®. Their premium granules are mixed onsite and hand troweled in place, creating a seamless safety surface. Recycled tire buffings are mixed with a polyurethane binder and set to a specific depth, based on the playground equipment fall height requirements. Once cured, a ½ inch layer of recycled EPDM granular is mixed and hand troweled over the buffings. TotTurf® uses only the finest raw materials that are formulated and tested specifically for playground safety surfacing. The raw materials are purchased and stored in six warehouse facilities in the Southwest. Crews are dispatched daily from these facilities with the necessary materials and equipment for each project.
